Herbert R. Thomas LLP are one of the leading firms of Chartered Surveyors in Wales offering wind farm advice to farmers and landowners.
If you have been approached by a wind farm company, we can help you with:
Professional advice on any terms being offered
The benefit of our specialist team who will get the best deal for you and have extensive experience in negotiating option agreements and leases
Impartial advice on wind farm development companies
Analysis of competing offers from different wind farm companies and income projections
Advice on joint venture projects with neighbouring landowners
Have you been asked to provide access?
Many sites are restricted by poor accessibility or grid connection issues. Access and necessity for grid connection could be the key to unlocking a major wind farm development.
For wind power to continue its expansion, the industry will need to build new transmission lines and improve integration into the National Grid, as well as developing relationships with third party landowners to provide access to windy areas.
If you have been approached to provide access or land for a wind farm, we can advise on:
Third party involvement
Easements and way leaves
Please contact any of the team below if you would like information about renewable energy, if you have been approached by a wind farm company or would like to promote your land.
Due to the announcement from the Department for Energy and Climate Change, as of 31st October 2011 we have regrettably had to withdraw our previously advertised offers.
The large Government cuts in the Feed in Tariffs have meant that the offers which were previously available on the 50Kw schemes on half an acre of land are no longer viable, it is not feasable to process any new schemes until we know exactly which new offers will be available to our clients in the future. 7
Although the FiT cut has been subject to a large amount of negative press coverage, it will still be possible to make a significant return on your solar investment which will be guaranteed for 25 years.
How would you feel if your Single Farm Payment incurred a 30% penalty?
We can give you advice and assistance on all aspects of the scheme including:
Completion of annual claim forms
Transfer/Lease of Entitlements
With changes constantly occurring, keeping up to date is vital to protect your income and avoid penalties.
Our team provides advice and guidance to clients in all aspects of the new Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) as well as completing and managing BPS applications. We offer up to date service on all issues including a brokerage service for transferring Entitlements.
Benefits of using Herbert R Thomas to manage your SPS include access to our detailed knowledge of the scheme; we can also liaise with the Welsh Assembly Government on behalf of clients to resolve disputes.
Are you considering a diversification scheme or intending to generate your own energy?
Volatile returns from traditional farm and estate activities together with growing opportunities in the wider economy have encouraged many businesses to diversify.
Our expert team at Herbert R Thomas is here to help you consider which option is most suitable for you; from telecommunications masts, wind turbines to tourism and farm shops or to more recent innovations such as generating your own energy. (Renewable energy- Wind Energy, Solar Water, Heating, Hydropower, Biomass, Combined Heating and Power, Heat Pumps, Biomass Anaerobic)
Do you have a unique diversification scheme you wish to implement or do you want to generate your own energy?
The word diversification covers a multitude of activities which can be defined broadly as “the entrepreneurial use of farm and estate resources for a non-agricultural purpose for commercial gain”.
At Herbert R Thomas, we strongly believe that the opportunities for many farmers and landowners to diversify will continue to develop as the demand for local food, leisure activities, renewal energy and recycling of waste streams grows.
Whether you are considering green waste, composting and renewable energy schemes, generating your own energy, local produce, and farm shops or building conversions and lettings, our Agricultural and Planning Departments are on hand to assist.
We work closely with rural landowners and farmers to identify diversification opportunities to complement existing enterprises and increase their income stream.
We provide sound business planning services and are able to advise landowners and farmers of the issues associated with diversification; our team can guide you through:
