Herbert R Thomas sponsor charity walk in Bridgend

Herbert R Thomas (HRT) sponsored a charity walk in Bridgend raising vital funds for Velindre.
The estate agents sponsored the t-shirts for the popular Mair’s Walk, an annual three mile walk from Bridgend Recreation Centre to Ogmore Castle.
Over one thousand people participated in the event, which was led by rugby internationals Andy Moore and Robert Jones.
The walk, now in its eight year, was created by Mair ap Gruffydd after she was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, the walk has helped raise tens of thousands of pounds for lung cancer research at Velindre Hospital.
Following the walk, people enjoyed an afternoon of family fun activities including live music, a Victorian fun fair, an auction, Falcon display and raffle.
A team from HRT took part in the walk, including partner Gavin Rees who will be heading up the new Bridgend office which will be opening later this year.
Gavin Rees, partner at HRT, said: “We were extremely proud to sponsor the t-shirts for Mair’s Walk to help raise vital money for Velindre. Everyone really enjoyed the walk and the entertainment in the marquee afterwards. It was fantastic to see so many people come together to raise money for such a great cause.
“We will soon be opening an office in Bridgend so it was a great opportunity to meet some local residents. Supporting the local community is something that is very important to us at HRT so we’re hoping to become more involved in events, charities and clubs in the area over the coming months.”
As part of the expansion, HRT is looking to recruit new members of staff to run the office and ensure customers receive the high standard of service HRT is known for.
