New heights for the Welsh property marketDate Posted: 31 March 2021
2020 has been a year of ups and downs, however we are pleased to say the Welsh property market is coming out stronger than ever. With the UK property market seeing an annual price growth of 7.6% (the highest since 2016) it’s clear that the time to sell is now.
It’s not just the Welsh property market that is defying expectations – HRT is too! We have seen many of our properties sell for well in excess of the asking price. Demand for home offices, gardens, reliable broadband and leafy locations has been driven by work and lifestyle changes in the aftermath of the pandemic. A beautiful detached property sold for over 12% above the asking price!
Not only have individual properties been achieving fantastic results, but Principality Building Society’s House Price Index Wales reports that the average Welsh house price has topped £200,000 for the first time ever. Record high prices are being achieved across most parts of Wales and all house types. There is a clear preference for larger properties, with detached house prices 11% higher than the year prior. This is great news for homeowners and potential sellers alike.
