Two local landowners are urging South Wales Land Development to join them in creating a comprehensive scheme to alleviate concerns caused by Taylor Wimpey’s proposed plans, which has resulted in over 230 objections from local people.

The multi-discipline property agency, which has offices in Cowbridge, Neath and Bridgend, has promoted James Mordecai, 28, from Cowbridge, to partner following seven years with the company.

Mr Mordecai joined the company in 2007 as a commercial surveyor after graduating from The Royal Agricultural College with an honours degree in Property Agency and Marketing. He also qualified as a Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2010.

Herbert R Thomas (HRT) has raised over £370 for Macmillan Cancer Support after holding a coffee morning recently.

Employees at the Cowbridge-based estate agents baked over 20 cakes and invited friends, family and local residents to attend and raise money for the cancer support charity.

It is the first year that HRT has taken part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and, due to its success, the estate agents will be hosting coffee mornings in its Bridgend and Neath offices next year.

Herbert R Thomas (HRT), which has offices in Cowbridge, Neath, and now Bridgend, has appointed David Waterman as residential manager and Rachel Howells as personal assistant to the firm’s property partners.

Mr Waterman, from Bridgend, has over 13 years of experience in the property market having worked as an estate agent, property valuer, sales negotiator and residential sales manager. He was also the youngest person in Wales to become a fully qualified estate agent at 16 years old.

A group of parents, teachers and sponsors from Oldcastle Primary School have signed up to tackle Wales’ highest peak to raise vital funds for the school.

At Bruton Knowles, Mr Davies was the Cardiff office Bank Panel Co-ordinator, and this is a new offering that he will bring to HRT. This will enable HRT to tap into this growing market by securing lending valuation work from major banks and building societies.
