HRT's commercial team: Gaye Morgan, James Mordecai, John Jones and new recruit Jonathan Davies.
Herbert R Thomas (HRT) has expanded its commercial department with the appointment of a new Senior Commercial Surveyor. Jonathan Davies joins from Bruton Knowles, where he managed a number of valuation portfolios for secured lending purposes for commercial and residential properties throughout Wales.
At Bruton Knowles, Mr Davies was the Cardiff office Bank Panel Co-ordinator, a new offering that he will bring to HRT. This will enable HRT to tap into this growing market by securing lending valuation work from major banks and building societies. He is also looking to introduce partnership valuations and notional rent review negotiations for GP surgeries throughout Wales and along the M4 corridor, having had previous experience working with this growing market.
Mr Davies graduated with an honours degree in Estate Management Surveying from the University of Glamorgan (now University of South Wales) and has been a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) since 2000. He is also a RICS registered valuer.
As well as launching new offerings at HRT, Mr Davies will be working alongside James Mordecai and John Jones in the HRT commercial team to provide commercial property advice across the industrial, office, retail and development sectors.
Jonathan Davies said: “I’m looking forward to joining the HRT team as it is a fresh challenge, where my experience can make a significant impact on the company’s current offerings. HRT has developed a strong reputation for itself in the commercial market, and I’m thrilled to have been given the opportunity to progress further business development opportunities, such as commercial valuations, for this reputable company.”
Andrew Thomas, partner at HRT, said: “Jonathan has a wealth of experience that will make him a strong asset for HRT. We have seen a significant increase in specialist markets such as GP surgeries and an increased willingness from a number of the banks to lend, which is leading to an increase in commercial valuations. We’re looking forward to being able to tap into these growing markets by using Jonathan’s expertise.
“Furthermore, we have just expanded by opening a new office in Bridgend, and Jonathan’s experience will be great to help us to expand further in the future. We’re eager to see him develop and progress at HRT.”
