What is Rent Smart Wales?

The registration and licensing scheme that makes sure landlords and agents in Wales are identifiable, trained and aware of their responsibilities.

What this means for you

Your landlord will be registered with Rent Smart Wales, and licensed if they manage the property themselves. If you rent privately in Wales, you will have an occupation contract and be known as a contract-holder, under the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016.
