Rawlins and Madley Merger with Herbert R Thomas

Rawlins and Madley Merger with Herbert R Thomas
Rawlins and Madley was established in 1991 and operates as a general practice surveying firm specialising in the sale, acquisition and appraisal of residential land and development opportunities throughout South Wales. The firm is recognised within the development and land industry for its expertise. Herbert R Thomas was established in 1926 specifically to provide professional advice to the agricultural and rural community of Glamorgan – a role it continues to provide to this day from its four offices. As well as its thriving residential sales, rental and rural departments, Herbert R Thomas offers a dedicated Commercial Department based in Cardiff which operates principally within South Wales. Herbert R Thomas is already actively involved in the promotion of a number of significant residential development sites across South Wales, combining the company’s longstanding traditions of representing landowners with the current market appetite for development. By merging with Rawlins & Madley, we see an exciting opportunity to further grow this area of our business whilst ensuring that the clients of both firms continue to receive uninterrupted, expert advice. The experienced Commercial team is available to provide advice on acquisitions and disposals, residential and commercial development, office, retail, industrial agency, commercial valuations and property auctions.
Jeremy Rawlins and Paul Madley have more than 80 years combined experience as Chartered Surveyors operating in South Wales. This has enabled them to establish a wide knowledge of the South Wales property market, with particular relevance to their specialism in residential development land opportunities, coupled with an extensive client base. Jeremy and Paul will join Herbert R Thomas as Consultants and will be operating principally from their Cardiff office, supported by Directors James Mordecai and Matthew Wright.
“We have always enjoyed a particularly good relationship with the Directors of Herbert R Thomas and there is a significant degree of synergy between our two practices. The ever-increasing time that it takes to bring planning and development schemes to fruition has caused us to think about the succession process, and as much as we would like to, we cannot go on forever. The merger with Herbert R Thomas ensures continuity of a professional service for all our existing and future clients.” - Paul Madley
“We are excited about the opportunity that this merger presents and wish to assure all our clients that both Paul and I will continue to look after your interests, and there will be no noticeable change to the service we provide.” - Jeremy Rawlins
“I am thrilled Jeremy and Paul have chosen to join Herbert R Thomas as consultants and we are enthusiastic for the opportunities it will present to both our client bases. I have had the pleasure of working jointly with Jeremy and Paul on several occasions and have always been impressed with their in-depth market knowledge and professionalism. I’m delighted to welcome them to our Cardiff team.” - James Mordecai
